One day Josef, a literature teacher at retirement age, realizes that he does not understand his students anymore and leaves his job. However, he had not expected that, in doing so, his life is going to lose its sense. Josef feels imprisoned in a city apartment together with his wife Eliska, so he starts to look for a new occupation. Eventually Josef becomes an empties collector, and by doing this job he manages to return back – both to life and his wife. An optimistic story about old age, pervaded by Czech humour. The film received the Audience Award at Karlovy Vary IFF.
